Welcome to the new school year!
/Welcome back to school! This is an exciting and busy time for students and parents as the new school year is well under way. Last month, students across Washington headed back to school, but the 2020 school year is much different than in previous years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, families were looking for alternatives to their local district-sponsored public school and some found a good fit in a digital public school. To those of you who are new to digital public schools and the Washington Digital Public Schools Alliance (DPSA), welcome! Welcome back to those of you who are seasoned digital public school parents and already part of our advocacy coalition.
My name is Sally Karr and I’m the President of the DPSA and learning coach to my 9th grade son. I also have a son who graduated from a digital public school last spring.
As we start the new school year. I hope you will:

Our advocacy will look a bit different this year, but we will still be working hard to ensure state policymakers support digital public schools in our state. I look forward to advocating with you in the year ahead.
